About Discover The Region:
In 2004 the publication known as simply "Discover Dayton" had been in existence for about 17 years... having been founded in June 1987 by Ann Traynor, it remained in print until the company was purchased by Eve Georgiou in February 2004. In June of that year it went to print under its new leadership, and that issue was 88 pages focusing on only Montgomery County, since that time the publication has become Discover the Dayton Region, and averages 170 pages per issue. Discover the Dayton Region is a June to June annual publication.
Shortly after the first issue was published, we met with the Dayton Development Coalition, in order to present them with an idea. This idea was to partner with them and focus on a 12 county area as opposed to just distribution in Montgomery County, and a couple of southern cities. The counties covered by Discover the Dayton Region now include:
-
Montgomery
-
Clark
-
Champaign
-
Greene
-
Miami
-
Butler
-
Warren
-
Clinton
-
Darke
-
Shelby
-
Auglaize
-
Preble
Since the initial meeting with the Dayton Development Coalition where we strategized to cover the same geographical regions, they have been utilizing the publication as a marketing tool whenever they are negotiating, with a new business considering the area for relocation, or recruiting new businesses to the area.
The Dayton Development Coalition sends the publication to locations throughout the U.S.A. and Europe.
The launch of two new regions has been in developent for the past year, those regions being NorthEast Ohio which made it to store shelves as of March 2010, and Phoenix, Arizona which will be on store shelves as of June 15th 2010.
As our publications are regional each has a slightly different style and focus. Discover the Dayton Region focuses on Economic Development, Recruitment, Travel and Tourism, & Relocation, Discover the NorthEast Ohio Region focuses on Education, Medicine, Agriculture, & Energy, & Discover the Phoenix Region focuses, on Travel & Resort Living, Lifestyle, Green Energy, & Growing the Economy.
